Drink-free Halloween activities
Halloween doesn’t have to revolve around alcohol. Discover fun drink-free activities to enjoy with friends, family or your own.

Halloween doesn’t have to mean a night out or drinking more than you intended at a house party. Whether you’re looking for something to do with friends, planning a family-friendly Halloween, or looking to do something different this year, there’s plenty of ways to enjoy the ‘spooky season’ without overdoing it.
1. Have a Halloween movie night
Turn your living room into your own cinema. Pick a few of your favourite Halloween films, get comfortable and stock-up on some Halloween-inspired snacks.
You could make it more of an event by inviting your friends round and creating a themed menu of alcohol-free drinks, snacks, and homemade treats.
2. Turn pumpkin carving into a day out
Make a day out of your pumpkin carving by heading to your local farm offering a pumpkin patch for a seasonal adventure. You could also add in a local walk around the area and grab a coffee to top off your day out.
3. Make some Halloween treats
Try decorating cupcakes, making spooky biscuits, or creating your own Halloween designed pizza. If you’re hosting friends, you could ask everyone to bring something homemade and turn it into a bake-off competition.
4. Go for a Halloween walk
If you want to get out of the house, wrap up warm and head out for an evening walk. You can look at Halloween decorations around your area, make a playlist for the walk and watch everyone enjoying themselves this Halloween. You could upgrade your walk and visit a ‘light-trail’ filled with glowing displays and exhibitions.
5. Visit a Halloween event
Many places put on Halloween events that don’t revolve around drinking. Look out for pumpkin patches, Halloween trails, family events, exhibitions, workshops, or Halloween/horror movies in the cinema.
6. Try something completely diffrent
Halloween can be a great opportunity to try something different. You could go bowling, visit an escape room, try a new restaurant, take a new class, or organise a day trip somewhere you haven’t been before. You don’t have to follow the usual Halloween routine to have a good time.
7. Host a Halloween dinner
Invite friends or family round for a Halloween themed dinner. You could dress up, decorate the table, make a spooky three-course meal, and create a selection of alcohol-free drinks for everyone to explore. You could even ask guests to bring a dish and turn it into a dinner party.
8. Have a quiet night in
Sometimes the best plan is no plan. Wear something comfortable, order your favourite food, watch a film or read a book, and allow yourself to enjoy a night to yourself.
Taking a break from alcohol can also give you the opportunity to notice how you feel when you’re not drinking.
