User Research Policy

Drinkaware are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This User Research Policy is intended to inform you how we gather, define, and utilise your information during UX research sessions.

The Drinkaware Trust (“Drinkaware”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of every person who visits or registers with Drinkaware.co.uk (the “Site”), the users of our “My Drinkaware” mobile application (the “App”) and their use of the products, tools and services that we make available from the Site (our “Services”) and we are committed to ensuring a safe online and mobile experience.

 

Purpose of research

The purpose of user interviews with the Drinkaware UX team is to gather feedback from our users and gain insight into how we can continue to develop our digital products including but not limited to the Drinkaware website, Drinkaware App, Drinkaware Shop, and Drinkaware Chatbot.

By booking in a call with the Drinkaware UX team, you indicate your understanding of the purpose of the research and agree that you have had an opportunity to ask questions about the study.

 

Freedom to withdraw

You understand that even if you agree to participate now, you can withdraw at any time, without giving a reason, take a break at any time, and ask questions at any time.

By booking in a call with the Drinkaware UX team you understand that participation in this usability study is voluntary and you agree to immediately raise any concerns or areas of discomfort during the session with the call moderator.

 

Information we will collect

We will ask you to provide feedback on recent or previous experience with the Drinkaware digital products. We may ask additional questions about you and your experience with alcohol in order to understand the greater context of your use of the Drinkaware digital products. We will also record the session and take notes to record your comments.

By booking in a call with the Drinkaware UX team you understand that your voice, face and the computer screen will be video recorded.

By booking in a call with the Drinkaware UX team you relinquish any rights to the recording and understand the recording may be copied and used by Drinkaware without further permission.

Privacy and Confidentiality

The session recording will be used research purposes only and that your name and image will not be used for any other purpose. We may publish research reports that include your comments. The data used in these reports will be anonymous.
