About Home and dry

Home and dry supports on-trade venues (pubs, bars, restaurants) anywhere where alcohol is served - to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for their customers, by encouraging drivers to go alcohol-free and get home safe.

According to the latest Government figures available for road accidents1, an estimated 7,800 people were killed or injured in 2019 when at least one driver was over the drink-drive limit. That’s more than 21 people a day and we want to work with you to make a difference as Drinkaware’s advice is very clear – it is safest to go completely alcohol-free if you’re driving.

With most venues now fully open again and already preparing for the festive season, Drinkaware is resuming the Home and dry campaign and making it as accessible as possible so that it has maximum impact, especially during a time where alcohol harm is more prevalent than ever.

Home and dry in a pub

In collaboration with the on-trade

In March 2020, we launched Home and Dry in association with the British Beer & Pub Association and the government’s 'Think!' campaign. Drinkaware worked with the on-trade to develop our latest campaign - ‘Home and dry’ - encouraging people not to drink and drive.

The campaign has been designed to encourage customers to enjoy spending time in pubs with their friends and families - but to choose an alcohol-free alternative if they are driving.

Home and dry is supported by the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) and the government’s ‘THINK!’ campaign.
