The Drinkaware Trust (Drinkaware), Britain’s leading responsible drinking charity, welcomes the call for greater discussion on cut-price alcohol.

 

It is clearly helpful for consumers to gain a better understanding of the key issues and facts of the trading environment, that all parties operate under and the legislation that governs them. As part of our role in wider society however we still need to create a culture of adopting a safe and responsible approach to how we each enjoy and manage alcohol.

Young people are one group influenced by cut-price alcohol, and any efforts to improve the way in which they purchase alcohol, especially from a personal responsibility perspective, is worthwhile. We encourage young people to find out more and seek key facts on both health consequences and rewards of alcohol, through our groundbreaking website www.truthaboutbooze.com this is the UK’s first and only drink awareness website dedicated to providing under 18 alcohol education. 

Our www.drinkaware.co.uk website last year enabled more than 1.45 million people to make better lifestyle choices, based upon independent evidence based information and tools. We are dedicated to growing our services to reach and impact on even more consumers in the year ahead and encourage greater debate towards the goal of creating a responsible drinking culture in the UK.
