Project: The Surrey Schools Marketing Challenge Roll-out
Region: Surrey
Amount approved: £25,000
Surrey SATRO runs an annual marketing challenge open to all schools and colleges in Surrey, and the surrounds, with students competing in teams to devise their own marketing strategy and develop a pitch on a set topic to present to judges.
This year’s marketing challenge was held successfully on Friday 13th March with the topic ‘How can young people make their peers aware of the serious health risks associated with the abuse of alcohol’. With Drinkaware funding Surrey SATRO will take the winning entries (and best runners up) and develop them into a resource and/or package, probably taking a peer led education approach, that they will then disseminate to all schools in Surrey.
The work will be evaluated internally, along the lines of previous methods used by the group for bullying and knife crime work.
