Project: Everybody Does It
Region: Dundee
Amount approved: £1,841
Fairbridge in Scotland provides structured programmes of development, educational and lifestyle activities for disadvantaged and excluded young people with the aim of re-establishing them into their communities.
The project will take two groups of eight young people known to misuse alcohol on intensive, one-day awareness building courses.
They will cover the dangers and health implications of drinking, as well as conceding the merits, and dispelling myths. Fairbridge will follow the work up in the regular one to one sessions that the young people attend as part of the group’s core service, enabling monitoring of the long-term impact on alcohol awareness and behaviour.
Fairbridge intend to roll-out this project (the successful pilot) in their two other catchment areas in Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
