Approximately ten million people in England drink above the recommended guidelines.
Approximately ten million men and women in England are drinking above the recommended guideline levels. Forty per cent of men are more likely to exceed the recommended daily guidelines, compared with 33 per cent of women. Among men aged 25-44, 34 per cent reported drinking on average more than 21 units in a week. For women aged 25-44, 24 per cent drinking on average more than 14 units in a week.
