Radio DJ and TV presenter Lauren Laverne turned actress (and stuntwoman) earlier this summer when she filmed our tongue-in-cheek video to encourage people to regulate their summer drinking. Lauren, who also was singer with 90’s teen-punk band Kenickie, filmed the clip in Finsbury Park, London as part of our ‘Drink Less, Miss Less’ initiative.
The film is all part of our campaign to encourage people to think about their summer drinking and the effect it has on their long-term health.
Lauren said:, “There’s no denying a lot of people enjoy a few drinks at a festival but too much can ruin the experience. When Drinkaware approached me to recreate a stage-dive, I literally jumped at the chance because it’s years since I’ve done one for real.
The video is a fun way of conveying a serious message in a non-preachy way and of getting people to think twice about how much they drink and the effect booze can have on their health and wellbeing.
As well as understanding more about alcohol units, the shoot also gave me a new-found respect for stuntmen as I had to re-take the stage-diving shot about 30 times!”
