Drinkaware began working with The Guardian newspaper in February 2009 to find out the truth about alcohol and young people.
We challenged parents, professionals and young people themselves to define what makes alcohol so appealing, as well as asking them what they thought could be done to improve the UK’s alcohol culture
These opinions resulted in some insightful features on the Drinkaware and Guardian websites, and the Guardian newspaper.

We then held a roundtable debate in April to provide an opportunity for key thinkers from Government, industry, health, social marketing, and youth and parenting organisations to explore the outcomes of the survey and to discuss what kind of drinking culture we need to work towards.
The campaign continues with a forthcoming event in May that will bring together young people from a range of backgrounds to discuss issues around alcohol. Both the Drinkaware and Guardian websites will be hosting video content and write ups from this event, as well as further street interview clips with parents and young people.
