Here’s our guide to making sure your night ends on a high rather than before it even gets started.
Joking with your friends. Laughing about all the hilarious stuff people have said and done. Hooking up with that girl or boy you’ve been talking to all night. Having life changing conversations about everything and nothing, whist watching the sun come up.
The hours immediately after a night out can often be more fun than the night out itself. If you go overboard on the booze however you might end up going home early doors and missing out on all the fun.
Here are our tips to help you and your mates go the distance on a night out.
7pm – 9pm
Whether you chose to drink alcohol or not, eating a good meal before you go out is always a good idea. Food will provide the energy to get you through the night and also helps to slow the absorption of alcohol, making it less likely that you'll end the night snoozing in the corner of the club, or worse.
Try and give alcohol a miss before heading out. Remember, it’s a long night ahead, and you don’t want to have to clock out early, leaving your mates to have all the fun.
9pm – 12am
Once you hit the bars and clubs, why not pace yourself by alternating alcohol with soft drinks? That way, you’ll stay hydrated and certainly feel the benefits the morning after.
Encourage your mates to do the same. You’ll feel more in control, and be able to make a better impression on the dance floor!
12am -1am
The music’s been amazing but you’re almost danced out and thoughts are turning to winding it down back at yours or one of your mates’. A couple more tunes and it’ll be time to start gathering everyone up.
1am – 1.30am
Make sure everyone knows you’re leaving the pub or club, and go together as one group. Walk home, get the bus or get a taxi from a reputable company together to make sure everyone stays safe. Don’t be tempted to get into an unlicensed cab just because it’s there.
Stopping off for some food on the way home is probably a good bet. Avoid the fast food and look out for all-night shops and supermarkets to buy some munchies and soft drinks to satisfy those late night appetites.
Now all that’s left to do is for you and your mates to walk that last little stretch back to yours, get the food and music on, and let the chat about the night’s events begin - the night certainly ain't over just yet!
