Rate how well you look after your mates with our quiz.
Everybody needs someone to watch out for them on a night out. Having a mate who starts the night right and looks out for you once you’re all out enjoying yourselves is the best mate you could have.
This is where your Wingman (or woman) comes in. The ultimate Wingman is the person in your group who makes good nights great.
So, how would you fare as a Wingman? Take our quiz to find out...
1. Your friend has the tendency to act on impulse after a couple of drinks and demand you all go somewhere else just as you’re settling in and starting to enjoy yourselves. They’re the reason why you often end up in some ropey club that wasn’t worth the entry fee.
To stop this happening do you:
A. Make sure they get a meal down them before they head out. Food will help to slow down the absorption of alcohol so they’re better equipped to make smart decisions rather than stupid ones.
B. Buy them a soft drink at the pub to give them a break from all the alcohol they’ve already drunk. Then try to talk them out of moving on.
C. Strap them to the stool once you’re in the pub so they can’t get away.
2. You’re getting ready for a night out and the person your mate has a serious crush on will be there. They’re out to impress and suggest skipping dinner in favour of a couple of pre-drinks before heading out.
Do you:
A. Suggest that soft drinks are the way to go before you head out, and that you should save any alcohol you are going to be drinking until you’re in town.
B. Have just one before heading out, but point out that drinks on an empty stomach may mean ‘Game Over’ earlier than they’d like.
C. Have a few drinks with them first because it will be a good laugh watching them trying to impress the person they fancy later.
3. Your mates are all together and you’re ready to head off to the club. It’s going to be brilliant, but you need to convince everyone to remember their night out essentials.
Do you get them to grab:
A. Some timetables and local taxi numbers so everyone has the opportunity to get home safely. It would be good to sort out a meeting place too.
B. A bit of cash, so you’ve got enough money to get a bus or train home later if they haven’t already finished.
C. A couple of cans or bottles to drink on the way. You’ll worry about how to get home when the time comes.
4. Your normally shy mate’s had a couple of drinks and they’re telling jokes to people they hardly know that would make them blush in the cold light of day.
Do you:
A. Get your mate a water between jokes and have a quiet word in their ear.
B. Laugh at their jokes until you think your mate’s about to really step over the line, and then have a word.
C. Join in. It’s a chance to try out your best XXX gags on a new audience.

Mostly Cs – Rubbish Wingman
The need to have a big night out overshadows your performance as a Wingman. Remember, to have fun you need your mates to be on top form. Look out for them next time and you can be sure that you’ll all have a much better night out together.
